Bringing Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon to you!
We’re thrilled to welcome Zhiwaling Hotels and Yangphel Adventure Travel into the Red Elephant Reps portfolio, bringing the spirit of Bhutan to our luxury portfolio for the American and Canadian markets!
Ian Paul Woods, CEO of Red Elephant Reps, commented: “At Red Elephant Reps, we don’t just promote hotels—we bring destinations to life. Bhutan is a land of rich culture and breathtaking landscapes, and we look forward to positioning this extraordinary country as a must-visit destination in North America. Our goal is to build brand awareness and expand client opportunities for the hotels and DMC, while also educating travellers about Bhutan’s unique, high-value tourism model”.

Zhiwaling Heritage, Paro
Nestled in the scenic Paro Valley, Zhiwaling Heritage is Bhutan’s first high-end hotel to be fully Bhutanese-owned. Built by master artisans, the hotel is a stunning tribute to Bhutanese architecture, incorporating intricate wood carvings, hand-painted murals and traditional stonework reminiscent of the country’s iconic Dzongs (fortresses).
More than just a luxurious retreat, Zhiwaling Heritage offers an immersive cultural experience. Guests can participate in meditation sessions at the Samden Meditation House, enjoy a tea ceremony in the Tea House, swim in the indoor pool, or unwind at the Menlha Spa. The hotel’s dining options highlight locally sourced ingredients, offering both Bhutanese and international flavours.
A short distance from the base of the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the hotel is an ideal haven for travellers seeking spiritual connection and adventure. Committed to sustainability, Zhiwaling Heritage integrates eco-conscious practices and actively supports local communities, providing a meaningful and authentic Bhutanese experience.

Zhiwaling Ascent, Thimpu
A contemporary retreat set among lush greenery and pine forest in the outskirts of Thimpu, Zhiwaling Ascent is a design-forward hotel that blends modern aesthetics with Bhutanese tradition. Bhutan’s first low-energy hotel, Zhiwaling Ascent features optimised solar gains, insulated walls and double-glazed windows to enhance energy efficiency while ensuring guest comfort. The architecture, inspired by Bhutanese farmhouses, incorporates stone cores and extended balconies, offering both cultural charm and functional design. Beyond its unique design, Zhiwaling Ascent is a hub for hospitality education, training the next generation of Bhutanese hospitality professionals.
Facilities include a restaurant with views of the valley and forest, spa therapy room, and a rooftop bar and lounge which offers panoramic mountain views by night and transforms into a yoga and meditation space by day. With emphasis on mindfulness, sustainability and contemporary comfort, Zhiwaling Ascent offers a refreshing take on Bhutanese hospitality.
